A journey 16,000km across the ocean and back. To Boston to see the doctor whose next round of research will involve vaccine trials that could lengthen the effective time of medications for targeted therapy. Unfortunately, trails are still a couple years away. That gives us time to advocate for trials to come here, to australia. We received some tremendous support through our Poster Sale. Because of this, we were able to build into our trip a short stay in Los Angeles. In LA. Our friend and music producer, the beautiful Ollie Brown, secured us 2 days at 64 Sound studio for recording. We stayed with him and his artist partner, our dear friend, Georgia Saxelby, who generously looked after us. We were offered the opportunity to perform and film our set at the community run Archival, a space in Downtown LA. In this exquisite warehouse, surrounded by emergent and established talent, we were generously received with kindness. A radiant experience.
In Los Angeles, getting the incredible opportunity to record at 64 Sound with the beautiful @olliejbrown before playing @archival.la. It's wild to be there in the epicentre of music, within the political pain, amongst the dreamers. Our life is so limited in its future, but here the edge is so close, eyes are fixed forward on possibility. In the wooden fixtures, baffled edges, and the warmth of expectation, our new green leaves were growing amongst hardened gardens. There, the Dream Center demands your confidence, and you meet it with the grit of lost truths. I am humbled by the courage that was around us. Albeit exhausted by the travel, we’re so excited to have recorded and performed in that historic city amongst the kindness of good friends.
Performance: Wednesday, April 1st 8pm
